Tranquility, comfort and rustic elegance await you at Kúuch Ka’anil, just five miles north of the town of Bacalar and ten minutes off highway #307 at km 26.5 or alternative access at Km. 28 when raining. Eight spacious bungalows and suites, each constructed of local hardwoods and stone, have a large private bathroom, palapa-covered porch with comfortable seating and lake view, a king size bed and hammock. No charges for telephone calls within Mexico.

Kayaks are available free of charge to all guests. We also have other boat tours (at different prices) as well as a preferential entrance fee for clients going to BioMaya. We can drive our guests to BioMaya and back either by boat (300 peso surcharge) or shuttle them to their highway entrance for free! Free transport from bus station or airport in Chetumal provided for our guests -- and to nearby archeological sites, when space is available.

Cool off in our crystal-clear sitting pool or have a snack or meal overlooking the lake; our full-service restaurant is open from 7 am to 9 pm. The bar (open from noon until 10 pm) is a palapa over the lake accessed by a circular dock surrounding a mangrove island rich with bromeliads. Both the bar and restaurant are open to the public.

Kúuch Ka’anil offers three lodging packages; all prices are for cabanas, double occupancy. Package 1: A romantic cabin with king size bed, a complete breakfast in our restaurant, and use of kayaks for $1400 pesos per night. Package 2: same as Package 1 with three meals is $1800 pesos per night. Package 3: is $2200 pesos for three meals as well as all drinks, including national and imported beers, wines, and liquors. As a special bonus for those who choose Package 3, we will include a 2-hour boat tour of the lagoon.

The price for each additional person over 12 years of age is 25% of the package price for 2 people (children 12 and under are free). Two lake-side suites are available, both include satellite (Sky) television. The cost for these very spacious accommodations, regardless of the package chosen, is an additional $400 pesos per night double occupancy.

At Kúuch Ka’anil, we are serious about our commitment to the environment. Guests are provided with biodegradable soaps and shampoos, grey water is filtered and purified organically, composting toilets reduce water use and recycle organic matter into fertilizer, and all Kúuch Ka’anil power comes from non-polluting solar and wind energy.

Please note: children under 16 are cordially invited to accompany their parents during the school vacation periods for Easter, December and summer vacation. During other times of the year, guests are limited to those over 16 years of age.
