Gaia Restaurant, Spa, and Artist Showcase is a great place to visit for a meal or more -- less than a block from the fort. Simply walk between the fort and town square south past the Town Offices along 3rd Avenue. Beautiful architecture, a wonderful fountain, and custom-made, rustic, native-wood furniture welcome you to Gaia.

The Gaia Restaurant -- with its beautiful and comfortable dining area -- is a wonderful place to enjoy good natural vegetarian food, as well as chicken and fish dishes, drink fresh coffee or juices or natural hot chocolate, or have a glass of wine or a cold beer and botañas with family or friends. Gaia Spa brings over thirty years of professional experience to provide a variety of spa/nourishing services, meditation and healthful-movement sessions, as well as periodic healthy body/healthy mind workshops from experts in a wide variety of fields (check the monthly event calendar.) Schedule one of Gaia Spa’s exquisite treatments in lomi lomi, deep tissue, reiki, relaxation, or lymphatic drainage massage. Relaxing massages may incorporate a mix of oil, essence, and scent therapies. Acupuncture treatments may be used jointly with massage or apart to address acute issues. Gaia Showcase gives regional, national, and international artists a Bacalar showcase for live performances as well as for handicrafts, CDs, books, photos, and other craft and art works. The Gaia Tienda offers locally-made, clothes and jewelry, locally-produced organic health and cleaning products, and more. The Gaia studio provides Bacalar visitors with access to live performing artists such as African drummers, Indian dancers, and local musical performers, plus movie night for both famous and new-found films.
