Hurricane Dean, August 21, 2007 - Thank all of you so much for helping Bacalar residents and nearby villages recover from this devastating event.

People have offered help in so many ways I know we will miss listing someone below but know your help is appreciated and needed. I don't know what we would have done without you. We will keep a running total of the dollar donations below but know that help has been offered in so many intangible ways as well - helping a neighbor take down a tree because they don't have a chain saw, delivering water and food, offering medical assistance, delivering a meal, taking a family with no food to the grocery store and buying staples, offering a shoulder to cry on, writing a letter to friends, asking for donations for the people of Bacalar and neighboring communities.

So far we have received 24,810.50 dollars, thanks to your generosity

There are Fund Raising events coming up in Merida, Mexico and in Warwick, MA that should generate more funds. People are emptying out their closets of clothes and bedding. People's generosity has been amazing!
